Chiba Restaurant: The Best Sushi Experience in North Hollywood

The sushi fish was fresh, and the sushi rice was delicious! As someone who frequents sushi bars in LA for some nigiri and hot tea, Chiba has the best ambiance and best tasting nigiri sushi. My favorite was the mackerel, yellowtail, and unagi. I've also ordered donburi here, and it comes very close to the donburi I had in Japan. Been coming to Chiba for years now. Hands down it's my favorite sushi spot for nigiri in LA. Excellent service. Totally polite. There are purse hooks under the sushi counter. Boom. 5 stars.

We were just passing through having flown into Burbank airport, but now we'll be coming here every time we do! Impeccable service, two(!) sushi bars, and DELICIOUS food. 5 stars plus.

There is a veru hood reason why this place has stood the test of time... My father, who had been lamenting for years there was no good sukiyaki left to be had anywhere anymore, was very pleased with Chiba's. The fresh water eel was also very good. Try to go here if you want the option of something more genuine, authentic, or sophisticated than the standard "sushi and tempura" Japanese food offerings on every other street corner in town. Great quality food!

My must orders: -spicy tuna crispy rice -car wash roll (off menu) -any nigiri -spicy salmon cut roll OH. MY. GOSH. This is hands down in my top two sushi restaurants in all of LA and that's saying a lot as I am a true sushi snob lol. The quality is just unmatched. We come here for birthdays, weekdays, you name it. Yes it's a drive, but a two hour drive from Santa Monica after work is that worth it. Make your way here whenever you can!!

The sushi here were fresh and generously portioned. I'm not a big fan of the Alaska roll, however. It's best to stick with nigiri's. Service was prompt and wonderful.

My first time here. Everything is delicious. We were in the shushi bar and they treated us well. In addition The waitress spoke Spanish and she was very nice. I definitely coming back. We went during lunch time so there was plenty of parking

I've been coming here for years..and it's been around for generations. 1st off..the quality of the seafood is extremely high quality. The chefs are some of the best sushi chefs around. There has been a change of guards since they moved to their newer location like 10 years ago as far as operationally. Some of the old quality I think has faded in simple things like the seaweed, tofu and soup recipes. But I didn't see much else change tonight I came in. I miss mom at the door. I don't think I saw Chiba at his main station. The support staff has changed but that doesn't mean it was lacking. I love Chiba. I think it was the best LA ever had. Tonight it was great..just not awesome. But I ate alone, not at the counter and didn't get the chefs knife cutting my food. Still great.
